For this production at the Hale Center Theater in Orem, I had the exciting opportunity to work as a stitcher on a few projects. First, I was able to work on two sets of spencer jackets (the show was double cast). While I did not do the pattern or cutting work (done by the draper Jessica Barksdale), and did not finish the garments by attaching the lining and adding the bust darts (work done after the second fitting), I had a joyous time of doing all the work in-between. I took much pleasure in focusing on the details, like ensuring pattern matching was exact, and hand basting the sleeves to guarantee perfect gathers. The work for these jackets are pictured in the first slide show below. Additionally, I was able to work on constructing the bodice of a white cotton empire waist dress. I also did not to the pattern or cutting work, nor the finishing work done after the second fitting. The work on this is pictured in the second slide show below.
